Data Center Thermal Energy Storage & Cooling Infrastructure
Thermal energy storage tanks, chilled-water storage and buffer tanks, atmospheric storage tanks, pressure-rated vessels, and large-diameter welded tanks for data center cooling infrastructure.
Data centers increasingly require large-scale cooling, thermal storage, and fluid-management infrastructure. Hess Services manufactures atmospheric storage tanks, thermal energy storage tanks, chilled-water buffer tanks, pressure-rated vessels, and other large-diameter welded tanks supporting these systems.
From repeat production of smaller and mid-sized vessels to large-diameter tanks and vessels, Hess brings established fabrication, manufacturing, inspection, and logistics capabilities to data center infrastructure projects.
Thermal Energy Storage Tank Manufacturing
Hess Services manufactures thermal energy storage tanks and vessels for large-scale cooling infrastructure. Our production-oriented approach is suited to projects requiring multiple tanks or vessels with repeatable configurations, consistent fabrication, and dependable production schedules.
Our capabilities extend from smaller and mid-sized repeat tanks and vessels to large-diameter atmospheric storage tanks and pressure-rated vessels.
You Engineer the System
We Manufacture the Tank or Vessel
Your engineering team defines the system and process requirements, including storage capacity, operating conditions, configuration, and internal components. Hess brings the tank and vessel engineering, applicable ASME code, and manufacturing expertise needed to turn your requirements into equipment that can be fabricated and delivered efficiently, consistently, and repeatedly.
Our strength is not simply the size of tank or vessel we can build. Hess is equipped for production-scale manufacturing — efficiently producing multiple units of the same or similar configuration while maintaining consistent fabrication, quality, and documentation.
Involving the fabricator early in your design process can identify design-for-manufacturing opportunities that may reduce fabrication costs, simplify production, and improve repeatability — particularly when a project involves multiple similar tanks or vessels and a large production program.

Built for Repeat Production
From Tanks to Large-Diameter Vessels
Hess is equipped to manufacture multiple tanks or vessels of the same or similar configuration while maintaining consistent fabrication, quality, inspection, and documentation.
Our current TES production line is tooled and optimized for 6′ and 8′ diameter shell solutions of virtually any length. At the same time, our fabrication capabilities support heavier, thicker, larger-diameter tanks and vessels up to 15′ 6″. Our teams have built tanks up to 16′ OD, with the longest measuring 120′ seam-to-seam and weighing nearly 100,000 lbs.
After more than 35 years of production experience, Hess has evolved beyond simply scaling welding, fabrication, and QC teams to meet each project’s requirements. Our production lines incorporate highly tooled assembly systems, robotic welding, and semi-automated welding stations designed to improve throughput, consistency, and repeatability.
